Lionel Stafford Reckley, age 83, of Tampa, FL, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Veteran of "B" Battery 1/83rd Artillery 1969-1970.


It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the passing of Pastor Emeritus Lionel Stafford Reckley, a man of devout Christian faith and immeasurable love for his family, who transitioned peacefully in his sleep on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor Anthony Miller, Joy of the Lord Church, West Park, FL, Officiating. He will be laid to rest on Monday, February 23, 2026, promptly at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.

A former resident of New York City, NY and Miami Gardens, FL, he ultimately retired in Tampa, FL. He is survived by his loving and committed wife of 40 years, Maria Bell Reckley. God blessed him with one daughter, Barbara Reckley, and gifted him with two daughters, Arlana Barr Harris and Monica Barr, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
